I love chunky yarn. So much so, that I end up stashing away any of the lighter weight yarn I purchase for months or even years before it gets used for anything! This weekend I decided to do a stash busting scarf to help use up some of these lonely closet skiens 🤣 It’s a super easy pattern, perfect for accompanying some Netflix binging!

For this pattern, you’ll use 4 strands of medium weight (3/4) yarn held together and a 16mm hook! I’m not 100% sure on the yardage but that’s because anytime one skien ran out, I just attatched a new one in a similar or complimentary color! 🧡

Holding 4 stands together, Chain 31
Row 1: HDC in second ch FTH & HDC across, turn [30 st]
Row 2: CH 1, 30 SC across, turn
Row 3: CH 1, 30 HDC across, turn
Repeat 2 & 3 until you reach about 42 rows

Sew up the edges and your done!!! 🙌

(Told ya it was simple!!)

Be sure to tag me on Instagram if you make your own version of the scrappy cowl!! I can’t wait to see your stash busting creations!! 😍

  1. Hi!
I love your work! And I specially loved a closed sweater you put in a story on Instagram (I think it was grey/greenish). Do you think you can put that pattern on your Etsy store? It was so pretty! I would love to make it! (I am a begginer and like the challenge!)
    Thanks

  2. Don’t have anything beyond a 6mm hook but I’m tempted to buy larger size hooks now! This looks amazing, thanks for sharing!
